While starting a new blog being a beginner, it is obvious to get stuck in finding the best theme for your blog.

So, I prepared this list of Best Free WordPress Themes for Beginners to help you out.

Best Free WordPress Themes for Beginners

When I first started blogging, I was playing with free themes out there to find out the best one.

If you have a tight budget to start a blog, then getting a free theme is a better choice.

Still! is it a good idea to get a free theme?

Honestly, there’s nothing wrong to install a free theme on your blog.

But, you have to be careful about some points while searching for a free theme.

How to choose a free theme?

Before going to the best free WordPress themes for beginners list, let’s see what to look for in a free theme.

The first thing you have to confirm is if the theme has a development team or not. You can see the last update date on the theme’s download page.

Also, you can check the theme version on the same page. By looking at these properties, you can be sure of the theme development if anything goes wrong.

The next thing I want you to look for is if the theme meets your requirements or not.

Check the customizability, the framework, and the size of the theme. If you want a fast website or blog, then you have to find a lightweight theme.

If you are a non-techy, then check the compatibility of visual builders with the theme you’ve selected. But I prefer to learn a little bit of HTML and CSS. This way, your blog is free from those extra heavy builder plugins.

Anyways, my recommendation for selecting a theme is always to go for a paid one.

Why?

Because you get timely updates and customer support from the Pro themes if required. Also, some companies, like elegant themes, are constantly putting new features on their themes.

    • If you are just starting out, try out free hosting services like viewen or 000webhost. The downside to this is your host may be down at times. Another option is to get shared hosting services from hostgator, bluehost and so on… There is a fee you need to pay upfront (most probably a yearly subscription)
